Dems Clean Up From Top to Bottom

Thanks to strong candidates and a great volunteer force, Democrats in Knox County had much to celebrate last night after the polls had closed. On the local level, Democrats maintained control of the county board and held onto all the other county positions that they held. Congratulations to all of the county board members, Bonnie Harris, Robin Davis, and Jim Thompson.

We want to give a special thanks to Scott Shipplett who is our newest circuit judge. His hard work and organization paid huge dividends to the Get Out The Vote efforts in Knox County. We also want to congratulate another new judge, Vicki Wright, on her success.

Additionally, we are very excited to see the entire state democratic ticket elected. The hard work and campaigning of the state candidates is always a great support system.

In another important race, we want to congratulate Phil Hare in winning the 17th congressional seat. This was a hard fought race to replace a great congressman. We look forward to many years of Phil carrying on Lane Evans tradition.

Congratulations go out as well to all of our candidates that were not able to pull out a victory last night. And to all of the opponents in the various races both in victory and defeat.
